Seeing “Sold out” on a plant you want? Our inventory rotates weekly — most species are back within days. Text or call us at 612-214-1955 and we’ll let you know exactly when it’ll be back.

If you live in Hawes Crossing, this is the only plant list you need.

Hawes Crossing enforces a specific approved plant palette — getting it wrong means rework, fines, or a rejected ACC application. We pulled the official guidelines, extracted every plant, and matched it against our nursery catalog. 67 of Hawes Crossing’s approved species are carried by Three Timbers — organized below by the same categories the ACC uses.

Every plant below is clickable with current pricing. Free delivery to Mesa on orders over $200.

About Hawes Crossing’s Approved Plant List

Community Hawes Crossing (Mesa PAD, 1,131.5 acres)
City Mesa, AZ 85212 (South Mesa, Sossaman & Warner)
Developer Toll Brothers, Fulton Homes, and other builders under the Hawes Crossing PAD
Management Varies by builder sub-HOA (new 2022–2026 villages). The city-adopted Hawes Crossing plant palette is the common reference across all sub-HOAs.
Source document City of Mesa Hawes Crossing Conceptual PAD, Exhibit Q — Approved Plant Palette (adopted via DMP19-00394).
Landscape themes Low-water Sonoran plants, builder-friendly — emphasis on cold-tolerant canopy trees, desert-adapted shrubs, and native accents suitable for Mesa microclimate.
A note on Hawes Crossing:

Hawes Crossing is not a traditional HOA — it’s a city-adopted PAD. The approved plant palette applies to builders and the master landscape; individual builder sub-HOAs (Toll Brothers, Fulton) may enforce tighter lists. Always check your lot’s builder-level landscape guidelines before planting.

⚠️ Heads up — plants we carry that Hawes Crossing prohibits:

Hawes Crossing’s guidelines specifically prohibit: Fountain Grass. We carry them for non-HOA gardens — but don’t plant them here.

Watering schedule

  • Year 1, summer: Every 3–4 days, deep soak.
  • Year 1, winter: Every 10–14 days, light watering.
  • After year 1, established: Every 10–14 days in summer, every 3–4 weeks in winter. Cacti, agaves, ocotillo need far less.
