Description:

New Gold Lantana, scientifically known as Lantana x hybrida 'New Gold', is a vibrant perennial known for its profusion of bright golden-yellow flowers that bloom continuously from spring through fall. This variety is a sterile hybrid, which means it puts all its energy into producing flowers rather than seeds, resulting in an exceptionally long blooming period. Its compact and mounding growth habit, coupled with its dazzling flower display, makes it a popular choice for gardeners looking to add long-lasting color and texture to their landscapes.

Growing to about 12 to 18 inches tall with a spread of 24 to 36 inches, New Gold Lantana forms a dense mound of green foliage that becomes almost entirely covered in golden-yellow blooms during the peak of its flowering season. The flowers are highly attractive to butterflies, bees, and other pollinators, adding an ecological benefit to its ornamental value.

Adapted to full sun, New Gold Lantana thrives in well-draining soil and is notably drought-tolerant once established, making it an excellent choice for xeriscapes and water-wise gardens. It is a robust plant capable of withstanding hot and sunny conditions and is often used in areas where other plants might struggle.

In landscaping, New Gold Lantana is often utilized for its ornamental appeal and low-maintenance nature. Its compact growth habit makes it suitable for small spaces, and its colorful blooms add significant visual interest to patios, decks, and outdoor living areas. It is also effective when used in mass plantings, as a border plant, or in mixed container gardens.

Overall, New Gold Lantana is a versatile and attractive plant, ideal for adding vibrant color, attracting wildlife, and creating interest in sunny garden areas. Its ease of care, adaptability to a range of growing conditions, and continuous bloom cycle make it a favored choice for gardeners looking to create impactful and sustainable landscapes.
